Alabama Broadcaster Chris Stewart Recovering After ‘Serious Medical Procedure’
Longtime Alabama broadcaster Chris Stewart is recovering Tuesday after undergoing a medical procedure shortly after returning from a trip to College Station with the baseball team.
Athletic Director Greg Byrne tweeted Monday afternoon that the voice of Crimson Tide basketball and baseball had to undergo surgery.
Stewart's broadcast partner for Crimson Tide basketball games, Bryan Passink, shared an update with fans after spending some time in the hospital with Stewart and his family.
Anyone that has spent time around Alabama athletics as a fan or a professional knows who Chris Stewart is and most of those would call him a friend. We had the pleasure of working alongside him while he hosted a midday show for a couple years on Tide 99.1 (before it changed to Tide 102.9). He's always generous with his time and willing to go out of his way to help you out if you needed it.
We are all hoping for a quick recovery and hope to hear him back on the microphone because he always makes Crimson Tide athletics more exciting and enjoyable for anyone that listens.
Get well soon, Chris.
