Keon Sabb Details The Difference from Last Season to Now
In the modern landscape of college football, achieving an undefeated record or maintaining a single loss is a formidable challenge for most teams. The Alabama Crimson Tide, however, have demonstrated resilience, rebounding from their Week 1 defeat to achieve even greater success than their 2024 campaign, remaining undefeated for six consecutive games.

As they approach Week 9, the Crimson Tide hold an unblemished record in Southeastern Conference play. This contrasts sharply with their performance last season, where losses to Vanderbilt in Week 6 and Tennessee in Week 8 marred their conference record.
Those losses, including a later loss to Oklahoma, served as crucial learning experiences, fostering important discussions about team improvement heading into the 2025 season.
On Tuesday, defensive back Keon Sabb shared insights into the lessons gained from those losses and their impact on the team's current success. Sabb emphasized the importance of sustained growth and avoiding past pitfalls.
"We can't fall into the trap that we did last year. We've got to continue to build in this part of the season. Some teams decline at this point, some teams continue to rise and build, and I feel like we're on that trajectory going higher," Sabb said, highlighting the team's commitment to continuous improvement.
Elaborating on the differences between this year's team and the last, Sabb pointed to enhanced team cohesion.
"I feel like we're a lot closer, we're continuing to build up with the numbers the strength coach has showed us. Continuous improvement is what I feel like has showed up," Sabb said when discussing the biggest difference between this year and last year's team.
This season, the Crimson Tide have shown much improvement, including four consecutive wins over Top 25 opponents. They've also dominated time of possession in each one of those games, holding the ball for over 33 minutes on average.
With the intensity and determination this Alabama team has shown, Sabb believes that it's an improvement from last season's level of intensity. "I definitely feel like there was some improvements with intensity for sure. We did what we did last year; this year we're a different team, so the atmosphere is a little different."
