The clock trickled down to 0:00 in Sun Life Stadium on January 7th and the end had come.  The end of the game, the end of the college football season, and the end of the collegiate careers for a handful of those clad in white jerseys with crimson lettering.

The night marked the end for a senior class that included the likes of offensive anchors Barrett Jones, Chance Warmack and Michael Williams as well as key cogs in the nation’s top defense, Jesse Williams, Robert Lester, Quentin Dial and Nico Johnson. Then, last Friday the departures increased as standout juniors Eddie Lacy, DJ Fluker and Dee Milliner announced their intentions to forgo their senior seasons.

For these seniors and select group of juniors, attention will not be turned to August 31st and Alabama’s next game against Virginia Tech, rather the attention has been turned to preparing for February’s NFL Combine and their respective Pro Day, hoping to impress the coaches and scouts in attendance.

Dan Shonka, former NFL scout and general manager of ourlads.com joined The Game and discussed his feelings on some of Alabama’s top draft eligible players.
