Alabama Lands One of Nation’s Top Receivers in Henry Ruggs III
One of the state's top players for the class of 2017 has decided to stay home and play for the University of Alabama.
Robert E. Lee wide receiver Henry Ruggs III held a ceremony at his high school in Montgomery on National Signing Day to announce his decision to play football for Nick Saban. The four-star standout was named the Class 7A Back of the Year after scoring 20 touchdowns as a senior.
Ruggs is considered the No. 2 prospect in the state of Alabama, but 247Sports rates him higher than anyone else. That recruiting site rates the 6-foot, 175-pound receiver as the No. 24 player nationally and the best player at his position.
His commitment gives the Crimson Tide 26 total players for the class of 2017.
