The Alabama Crimson Tide unfortunately missed out on the 2022 College Football Playoffs and therefore must prepare to close its season with a Sugar Bowl matchup with Kansas State. The transfer portal officially opened on Monday with the regular season officially ending.

The Alabama Crimson Tide saw its 11th player and fourth wide receiver enter the transfer portal in sophomore JoJo Earle, according to Matt Zenitz of On3 Sports.

Earle was set to see a lot of playing time as the starting punt returner and slot receiver, however he unfortunately missed time in the early part of the 2022 season because of a broken foot. Due to his foot injury he never was able to take over the punt returning duties and became a rotational receiver in the 2022 offense.

Earle was considered a 4-star prospect in the 2021 recruiting class. He ultimately played in 21 games for the Crimson Tide through two seasons accumulating 24 receptions for 303 yards and two touchdowns. He notched 88 punt return yards on 16 attempts in his freshman year.

Earle becomes the fourth wide receiver to enter the portal joining Jacoby BoykinTraeshon Holden and Christian Leary. The other seven players in the portal are Javion Cohen,  Khyree Jackson,  Trey SandersTanner Bowles, Damieon GeorgeJack Martin, and Braylen Ingraham.

His departure now means that three of the four premiere receivers from the 2021 class have all hit the portal, leaving on Ja'Corey Brooks in a Crimson uniform.
