JACKSONVILLE, Ala. — The Alabama Crimson Tide maintained their 13-game winning streak with a phenomenal 11-1 victory over the Jacksonville State Gamecocks on Tuesday at Rudy Abbott Field, thanks to a combination of solid offense and exceptional defense.

Alabama scored first after a slow start in the first two innings, during which both teams struggled to get much going offensively. The Crimson Tide gained some momentum in the top of the third inning when the top of Alabama's batting lineup reached base, allowing Jason Torres to be walked, bringing center fielder Richie Bonomolo Jr home and giving the Tide a 1-0 lead early in the game.

Aeden Finateri began the evening on the mound for the Crimson Tide, pitching 2.1 innings before being pulled in the bottom of the third inning when the Gamecocks had the bases loaded with one out. Finateri finished Tuesday's win with one strikeout, three hits, and one run allowed.

Braylon Myers replaced Finateri on the mound in the bottom of the third. Myers started a little shaky hitting his first batter, resulting in the Gamecocks tying the game at one. Despite the rocky start, the righty went on to force Jacksonville State to leave three stranded baserunners after a line drive that resulted in a double play to get the Tide out of a sticky situation that saw the Gamecocks have the bases loaded with only one out in a tied ball game.

Myers concluded Tuesday's game with two strikeouts, one hit, and zero runs allowed in 2.2 innings.

Alabama's bats got rolling in the fourth inning, as the Crimson Tide scored two runs to take a 3-1 lead. Alabama's first run in the fifth came on an RBI single by catcher Will Plattner, who brought in senior Kade Snell to make the score 2-1. Plattner scored on Justin Lebron's groundout RBI, giving the Tide a two-run lead entering the bottom of the fourth inning.

Jacksonville State was unable to get anything going offensively, with the Tide's defense eventually shutting down the Gamecocks, allowing only one run and four hits, holding Jacksonville to a batting average of .133 in Tuesday's setback.

On the other hand, the Crimson Tide was on fire after the fifth inning, with a batting average of.385 that showed up on the scoreboard. The Tide scored in every inning after the fifth, with players such as Will Hodo, Plattner, and Bonomolo Jr earning two or more runs in Tuesday's game.

Alabama had three players with more than two RBIs, with guys like Lebron (4RBIs), Fowler (2RBIs), and Plattner (2RBIs) executing and helping drive baserunners home.

Crimson Tide pitcher Ariston Veasey came in to close out the final inning for Tate Robertson, a Northridge alumnus who had pitched three hitless innings, earning two strikeouts. Veasey finished the game in impressive fashion, securing all three outs himself as the right-handed pitcher retired three batters to close the game.
