Alabama Softball Picks Up New Commitment
Patrick Murphy and the Alabama softball program picked up a commitment from class of 2024 catcher Kennedy Marceaux.
"I am so happy and blessed to announce that I have decided to continue my academic and softball career at The University of Alabama! I would like to thank my coaches, my family and friends for supporting me on this journey and helping me get to where I am today not only as an athlete but as a person too," wrote Marceaux. "Thank you Coach Murphy, Coach Alyson, Coach Lance and Coach Ryan for this opportunity, and to be a part of this amazing program! ROLL TIDE ROLL."
According to Vermilion Today, Marceaux has a .655 batting average, 139 hits, 128 runs batted in, 40 home runs, 38 doubles, eight triples, and has only recorded three strikeouts in her two high school seasons thus far.
Marceaux plays for the Kapan High School Pirates where she aided the Pirates to an appearance in the 2022 3A Louisiana High School Athletic Association State Softball Tournament. Kaplan lost to Sterlington 8-5 in the semifinals.
The La., native is one of two class of 2024 recruits to commit to the Crimson Tide recently, as pitcher Braya Hodges announced her verbal commitment to Alabama on Wednesday.
Alabama softball starts its fall schedule on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, against Jacksonville State in Albertville, Ala. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. CT.
