Alabama Walk-On Enters Transfer Portal
Basketball has always had a much higher roster turnover rate than football, and Alabama fans are getting reminded of that rapidly this offseason. So far, four players have waded into the waters of the NBA Draft, two burned their last year of eligibility this season, and now, a third has entered the transfer portal.
Delaney Heard was announced as being in the transfer portal by Verbal Commits on Twitter Thursday morning.
In 16 career appearances on the hardwood in Tuscaloosa, Heard averaged 1.6 minutes, tallied 15 total points, and drained three of the four 3-point shots he attempted.
Heard spent three years in Tuscaloosa and has two years of undergraduate eligibility left due to the COVID year in 2020.
Heard's contributions on the court may have been negligible, but he was a key part of the culture of the team. Heard always went out of his way to keep the energy up on the bench and was a fan favorite.
