Alabama women's basketball improved its record to 3-0 on Monday night, defeating Alcorn State 92-39 and scoring a season-high of 92 points.

Efficient scoring, getting everyone involved, solid defense, and a reduction in turnovers compared to the previous two games propelled the Crimson Tide to a decisive victory. All 13 available players contributed in some aspect of the 53-point win, with Alabama's bench outscoring Alcon State's bench 37-20.

The Crimson Tide started strong in the first quarter, opening with an 8-0 run and maintaining control throughout. They connected on 4-of-6 three-point attempts  (67 percent) and 9-of-15 from the field (60 percent), establishing a 24-8 lead. This matched their highest-scoring quarter of the season.

Alabama's defense remained steadfast in the second quarter, converting 14 forced turnovers into 14 points and taking a 36-17 lead into halftime. By halftime, Alabama had committed only six turnovers compared to Alcorn Stare's 14.

Essence Cody led the charge coming out of halftime, scoring eight points and sparking a 21-5 run that extended Alabama's lead to 35 points (57-22). Alabama outscored Alcorn State 31-8 in the third quarter, shooting nearly perfect at 12-of-14 from the field, securing  a 67-25 lead and setting the stage for a dominant fourth quarter.

Alabama cruised through the fourth quarter, outscoring acorn 25-14,  resulting in a final score of 92-39.

Cody delivered another impressive performance, scoring 17 points and reaching double figures for the third consecutive game this season. Alabama native Ace Austin scored a career-high 16 points and five rebounds. Joy Egbuna, Reychel Douglas and Tianna Chambers made their season debuts, with Chambers and Egbuna making their first collegiate appearances. Egbuna scored four points, and Douglas added three.

Alabama shot 33-of-59 (56 percent) from the floor, 11-of-22 (50 percent) from beyond the arc,  and 9-of-17 (53 percent) from the free line. In comparison, Alcorn State shot 13-of-48 (27 percent) from the field, 4-of-13 (31 percent) from the three-point line, and 9-of-17 (53 percent) from the free line.

Alabama will return to Coleman Coliseum on Monday, Nov. 17, to face Alabama A&M with tipoff scheduled for 6 p.m. CT on SEC Network+.
