Bama in the NFL: Week 10 Outlook
Week 10 is here and wow do we have some great matchups. Let's break it down and see which Bama players are primed for big days.
Lions vs. Texans (Sun. 7:20 ct):
Jahmyr Gibbs (Lions) - A great showing last week against a pretty stout run defense, should give the Lions confidence running the ball against a good Texans defense. Expect Gibbs to get the carries and targets, especially if he is as efficient as he has been.
Jameson Williams (Lions) - Returning this week from a two game suspension for PED violations, head coach Dan Campbell alluded to Williams being slowly integrated back in this week. Expect medium playing time as he regains trust from his head coach.
Will Anderson jr. (Texans) - Absent from Wednesday's practice, Anderson looks to heal up from an ankle injury suffered in last Thursday's game. Should Anderson jr. play expect big plays in the backfield and disruption up front.
Bengals vs. Ravens (Thu. 7:20 ct):
Derrick Henry (Ravens) - A less than stellar defense for the Bengals in the passing game and one in which they allow only 4.1 yards per carry to backs, means that Henry should thrive. The Bengals do have the 7th best run defense in the league, but due to the elite talent that is Henry expect him to thrive. A Bama - LSU matchup here as well, as Joe Burrow and Ja'Marr Chase face Derrick Henry and Marlon Humphry in the week of the much awaited Bama - LSU matchup Saturday.
Eagles vs. Cowboys (Sun. 3:25 ct):
Jalen Hurts (Eagles) - A good two game stretch form the Eagles offense led by Hurts should bode well for this matchup as the Cowboys defense is reeling. Without Dak Prescott on the otherside of the ball for the Cowboys, it looks to be like a tough day for them, again, and a great matchup for the Eagles to continue on a run. If Hurts can limit the turnovers it should be a big day for him in this offense.
DeVonta Smith (Eagles) - With a reeling Cowboys defense that, at this point is one of the worst in the league, it should be a good day for Smith and this offense. Diggs should be in coverage over A.J. Brown, which means Smitty should be there to clean up the rest underneath. expect a good outing here from this Eagles offense.
Trevon Diggs (Cowboys) - A limited participant in Wednesday's practice form a calf injury, he should be ready to go Sunday barring any major setbacks. A ball hawk on the defense for sure and maybe the standout in their defensive backfield, expect big plays, but it still looks like it will be a long day for this defense.
That does it for this week's games. Plenty more great matchups to watch as well this weekend, especially on Saturday. Beat LSU and Roll Tide!!
