Bama in the NFL: Wild Card Playoff Recap
The Wild Card round of the NFL playoffs for the 2024 season is now complete after last nights game between the Vikings and the Rams. The games from this round were nothing too special as most of the favorites ran away with the wins besides the Buccaneers. Let's see how the Bama players that made impacts in this round did.
Amari Cooper (Bills) - This matchup went the way the Bills wanted too in not having to air it out very much, mainly relying on their ground game between Allen and Cook. Amari totaled two catches for eight yards, so quite modest here. When they need him he'll be there.
Najee Harris (Steelers) & Derrick Henry (Ravens) - Both backs played well in this matchup but the Ravens still ran away with this one. Henry had two touchdowns and 186 yards off of 26 carries. A great showing from the King as they leaned on him heavily in this one. Harris only saw six carries as they were playing from behind almost the entire game. A tough game here for him but he should bounce back going into next season.
Josh Jacobs (Packers) - Gaining 81 yards and a touchdown off of 18 carries, it was a good outing from Jacobs in a tough loss in the first round. He is firmly in the mix as one of the leagues premiere backs. Expect him to continue his hard nose running next season with the Packers.
DeVonta Smith and Jalen Hurts (Eagles) - Four catches for 55 yards, it was a decent day for Smitty, moving the chains for this offense when needed. Hurts played well too, with no turnovers and two touchdowns, he did what was needed to get this team further into the playoffs.
Will Anderson jr. (Texans) - Raking in another 1.5 sacks in this matchup and another 3 tackles, Anderson jr. had a great game affecting the qb. Now the Texans look to disrupt even further in their next matchup against the Chiefs.
Brian Robinson jr. (Commanders) - Coming away with a win is always nice, especially in the playoffs. A tough run defense in this game limited Robinson jr. to 10 carries for 16 yards and it was really the Jayden Daniels show too. Now they are going to face the Eagles, another tough run defense. He should have plenty of opportunities there too.
That does it for the Wild Card Recap! Check back Thursday for the Divisional round outlook. Roll Tide!
