Bama’s Barker Honored by SEC
Alabama women’s basketball senior guard Sarah Ashlee Barker of Hoover has been named the Co-Player of the week for the first time this season, the Southeastern Conference announced this week.

The Birmingham, Ala., native and Spain Park High grad averaged 24.5 points per game and 10 rebounds per game during the Crimson Tide’s back-to-back road wins over Arkansas on Feb. 1 (86-70) and Vanderbilt on Feb. 5 (74-66).
- Barker picked up her third consecutive 20-plus point game in the win over Vanderbilt. She recorded her second consecutive double-double in the team’s win over Arkansas (24 points, 10 rebounds).
- Barker shot 66 percent from both the field (8-12) and the charity stripe (6-9), while also shooting 60 percent from deep during the win on Feb. 1. During the win on Feb. 5, Barker recorded a game-high six assists and nine rebounds.
- Barker, daughter of former Tide quarterback Jay Barker, leads Alabama in scoring, averaging 17.3 points per game. She ranks fourth in the SEC in field goal percentage (52.9).
- Alabama is now 18-6, 5-4 SEC and takes the court Thursday night at 6 p.m. CT at home against Tennessee. You can hear that game on Catfish 100.1 FM.
