Alabama Running Back Daniel Hill Improving His Body Ahead of Junior Season
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Alabama running back Daniel Hill was listed at 244 pounds last season with the Crimson Tide, but shed eight pounds ahead of his junior campaign, and is now listed at 236.

"I had to go back and see what I was doing wrong. I had to change the way I would eat, cardio more, that was really it," Hill told reporters after Monday's practice. "That was something that I feel like I needed to change; the coaches felt like I needed to change. I made a commitment to myself to get my weight down."
Last season, Hill rotated in the Alabama backfield, finishing as the Tide's second-leading rusher with 284 yards, but led the team in rushing touchdowns with six. Hill's always been a powerful back with his size, but told reporters he feels good as he prepares for year three in Tuscaloosa.
"I feel good. I feel way faster; my body feels better. All the little knack injuries like that, I'm not having those anymore. I just feel better as a whole."
Despite dropping eight pounds and feeling faster, Hill hasn't lost any of his power, with the junior running back able to squat over 800 pounds.
Hill also thinks the Alabama run game, a unit he expects to be a contributor for, is going to improve from last season's 15th-ranked rushing offense in the SEC.
"It's gonna be great," Hill said of the Tide's offensive line. "Just every day, coming out, doing better, gelling, you know, they've never played together. So, we just gotta come in every day, work, keep working at it, and we'll see how it goes during the season."
