DeBoer Showcases Excitement for 2025 Wide Receiver Room
Alabama's wide receiver room is arguably the most talented it's been since Jerry Jeudy, Henry Ruggs III, DeVonta Smith, and Jaylen Waddle were playing rock, paper, scissors for touchdowns during the 2019 season. The current group of receivers features Ryan Williams, Germie Bernard, Jalen Hale, Isaiah Horton, and a host of other young but talented receivers.

On paper, this should be an incredible room for Alabama. However, 2024 featured the fewest total receiving yards since 2012 (3,073 in 2024, 3,052 in 2012). DeBoer believes the hype around his receiving group this season, however, calling them "just different" compared to the group that struggled to help Jalen Milroe in the pass game in 2024.
"Ryan Williams, he came in - he wasn't an early enrollee, he was a whole year early - he came in last summer and really understood, I think, what it takes to go through a full college season, how that toll on your body," DeBoer told Christian Miller in an exclusive radio interview.
"Germie Bernard now has had an offseason to work with the quarterbacks. He knew the offense, but the other guys got to know it with you.
"Isaiah Horton has come in nicely.
"Rico Scott has done a really good job."
You get the idea. DeBoer wanted to go "on and on" about the rest of the receiving room, featuring Cole Adams, Jaylen Mbakwe, Jalen Hale, Bubba Hampton, Lotzeir Brooks, and Derek Meadows.
The top two, Ryan Williams and Germie Bernard, are back for their second seasons with the Tide as Alabama tries to implement a new quarterback into the system. DeBoer touted the talent of the two receivers,
"We're able to move these guys around and do what we do best, which is have a lot of versatility and diversity in what we do because guys can do a lot of different things," he said.
Regardless of who the quarterback is, having a wide receiver room like this, 2025 Alabama could make a quarterback's life incredibly easy.
