Eric Berry Returns to Practice from Cancer Treatments with Great Interception
This past December, current Kansas City Chiefs and former Tennessee Vounteers safety Eric Berry was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma, a type of cancer of the immune system, but now he is back cancer-free and making great plays in practice for the Chiefs.
It's always a heartbreaking story to hear when someone is diagnosed with cancer, but it's nothing shy of heartwarming to hear that that someone is now cancer-free. Berry got that good news last Tuesday, and actually returned to practice the following day.
He fought so hard during the seven-plus month bout with cancer that he actually weighed in one pound heavier than when he was placed on the non-football illness list in late December.
However, the former Tennessee standout is back to his old self, making great plays and leading one of the NFL's most talented secondaries.
Berry, one of the top safeties to ever come out of the Southeastern Conference, was drafted by the Chiefs fifth overall in the 2010 NFL Draft.
