Green received this honor Tuesday night at Montgomery City Hall in recognition of his dedication to the community and his impact on and off the court.

During his senior year with the Crimson Tide, Green was the active SEC leader in double-doubles and rebounds. He was ranked in the top-15 all- time at Alabama in career scoring, rebounds, blocks, and steals.

District 6 Councilman Oronde Mitchell emphasized how Green's commitment to his hometown was unwavering, saying, "He's just doing what he said he was going to do throughout his life. He has persevered, and he's showing people that you can be something from a small city."

A player who values family and community, Green has constantly given back to his city. From creating his non-profit organization, "Forever My Brother's Keeper," in honor of his late brother, to giving out holiday meals to families in need, he has always shown his commitment to his community.

“Sometimes they don’t think it’s possible, and I want them to know that it is,” Green said. “I feel like anytime we put our minds to something, we can do it if we focus and lock in on it.”

On and off the court, Green has continued to make an impact on the community, and now, in the city of Montgomery, March 18 will always be known as JaMychal Green Day.
