Former Alabama guard Josh Primo was waived over the weekend in a shocking move by the San Antonio Spurs. The former No. 12 overall pick went unclaimed through waivers over the weekend, after allegations that he exposed himself to women.

I know that you all are surpised by today's announcement. I've been seeking help to deal with previous trama I suffered and will now take this time to focus on my mental health treatment more fully, I hope to be able to discuss these issues in the future so I can help others who have suffered in a similar way. I appreciate privacy at this time.

-Joshua Primo via statement to Adrian Wojnarowski

Primo reclassified into the 2020 recruiting class and became the youngest player in NCAA basketball for the 2020-21 season. The 6-foot-6 freshman averaged 8 points per game and earned All-SEC Freshman honors. Primo was drafted No. 12 overall in the 2021 NBA Draft by the San Antonio Spurs.

He spent the last season as a rotational piece for the Spurs, appearing in 50 games and making 16 starts. He even appeared in four games to start the 2022-23 season. However, according to reports he indecently exposed himself to a female employee.

The Spurs still owe the Canadian combo-guard $8.4 million over the next two years but opts to cut ties with him completely. His accuser has hired Tony Buzbee, the same lawyer that handled the allegations against Deshaun Watson.

The 19-year-old professional now finds himself without a job. He will have to clear his name before getting back on the basketball court.

Primo has allegedly been in contact with the Toronto Raptors, however nothing has materialized on that front as a landing spot for the Canadian.
