Former Alabama Wide Receiver Signing with Las Vegas Raiders
Former University of Alabama wide receiver Cam Sims is headed to Las Vegas after five season with the Washington Commanders. The free agent and the Raiders reached an agreement on Monday.
No details on the contract have been revealed yet.
Sims had a quiet college career compared to some of the men in the wide receiver room with him. He left Tuscaloosa with 405 yards and a touchdown on 34 catches. In Washington, he amassed 804 yards and three touchdowns on 57 catches. 35 of those receptions were for first downs.
Even if he doesn't do much in Las Vegas, Sims will always be remembered for one of the greatest instances of "Bama on Bama crime" in the NFL, when he went right over top Trevon Diggs for a spectacular touchdown catch.
Sims going to play for the Raiders also suggests that Josh McDaniels, who spent over a decade working under Nick Saban's friend Bill Belichick, wants to follow in his mentors footsteps and bring guys in from the Mecca of college football.
