Alabama freshman forward Raymond Hawkins has decided to enter the transfer portal. Hawkins, a three-star center out of Findlay Prep in Henderson, Nevada originally committed to Buffalo while Nate Oats was still coaching there. He became Oats's first commitment at Alabama when Oats took the job in Tuscaloosa. Now he becomes Oat's first program departure in Tuscaloosa.

Hawkins only played in six games this season for the Crimson Tide, logging a total of five minutes during the year. He gave up one turnover and recorded two personal fouls on the stat sheet this season. Hawkins was seen as a future contributor in the Oats program.

The assumed departure of Hawkins, along with the graduation of James "Beatle" Bolden opens up two scholarships for the Crimson Tide in the 2021 season.

The Alabama Crimson Tide lost seven of its last 11 games and had its season abruptly cut short prior to playing Tennessee in the SEC Tournament. The Tide needed to advance all the way through the SEC Tournament to receive an invitation to the now discontinued NCAA Tournament.
