Tuscaloosa native, Ethan Crawford will be taking a short trip to Alabama's football facility this weekend for a visit. The 6-foot-one, 195lbs quarterback out of Hillcrest High School has a big future ahead of him, getting offers from all around the country beginning in his freshman year.

Tuscaloosa residents who follow high school football know all about Crawford. Those that don't won't have to wait long to recognize his name. Crawford is the definition of a dual-threat quarterback and is a very exciting player to watch.

Unlike most high school quarterbacks, Crawford's breakout year was his freshman year, after getting in the game against Northridge High School. Here's a clip of him moments after:

He also led the Hillcrest Patriots to an 11-3 season last year, proving himself to be one of the top quarterbacks in the state. During a 2020 game against Wetumpka, Ethan Crawford and the Patriots' offense pulled off an incredible last-second play to win the game.

FOX News writes, “It was a scene you might expect to see straight out of a movie but for one Alabama high school football team, it was the game-winning play.”

USA Today called it "a stunning finish."

Even Tom Brady reacted to the game-winning play on Twitter the day after.

All of this to say that Ethan Crawford is not your average high school quarterback, and wherever he ends up playing his next four years, a lot of eyes will be on him.

For Alabama fans it's a different story; Crawford could make a great fit to Alabama's offense in the coming years and he's already got quite the fan base here in Title Town. Not to mention he would be learning under one of the best coaching staffs in the nation led by head coach Nick Saban.
