INDIANAPOLIS- Jalen Milroe, the dual-threat quarterback, recently highlighted his passing abilities at the 2025 NFL Combine, surpassing his earlier showing at the Senior Bowl. Milroe exhibited significant progress, especially in his deep throws.

At the Combine, Milroe's proficiency in connecting on long passes was particularly noteworthy. His enhanced performance caught the attention of many observers.

Kicking off Combine drills, Milroe linked up with three receivers on quick slant routes, although he did have a few errant throws. He followed that with several successful quick outs and short passes, despite one pass sailing over a receiver's head. While he faced some challenges with 15-yard stop routes and corner routes, he ultimately found his groove, particularly excelling on go routes, where he launched a remarkable 50-yard pass, showcasing his arm strength.

In summary, Milroe's performance notably improved, and in Pro Football Focus's top takeaways from the Combine, he, along with Brady Cook and Riley Leonard, distinguished themselves with their impressive throwing skills among the quarterback group. Both Milroe and Leonard demonstrated exceptional arm strength. When he remains calm and patient, Milroe has the capability to connect effectively with receivers.

Before the NFL Combine, analyst Daniel Jeremiah commented on what Milroe needed to showcase at the Combine, saying, "When it comes to Milroe, again, continuing to grow as a passer, get your cleats in the ground. There's times when he can get up a little bit on his toes. Just relax, be comfortable, drop your shoulders, put your cleats in the ground, and let the ball come off your hand. It's all in there." With enhancements to his footwork and further growth, Milroe could emerge as a promising NFL prospect.

Milroe will have another chance to showcase his skills at Alabama's Pro Day on March 19. His performance at the Combine has slightly elevated his draft stock, but this upcoming event will be vital for cementing his status.

Over the past months, Milroe's draft stock has fluctuated, and he is not currently viewed as a first-round pick. However, his impressive ball handling at the Combine has placed him in the late first round of some mock drafts. In the coming months, Milroe will focus on training for the NFL while meeting with teams for what is essentially a major job interview.

With numerous teams either in need of a quarterback or considering the option this year, Milroe's exact draft position remains uncertain.
