Jameson Williams Scores on First NFL Reception
Jameson Williams made his NFL debut last week against the Jacksonville Jaguars as the Detroit Lions won 40-14 over Trevor Lawerence's squad. Williams was targeted once in his debut and did not haul the pass in.
However, Sunday against the 10-2 Minnesota Vikings, Williams hauled in his first NFL pass and made his presence felt immediately.
Williams diid what Alabama fans saw so much of from him in the 2021 season: he got behind the defense and hauled in a wide open 41-yard touchdown pass.
Williams has missed the vast majority of his rookie season recovering from the ACL tear he famously suffered in the College Football Playoff National Championship game against Georgia. At the time of his injury, Alabama was tied 3-3 with Georgia. The 40-yard completion looked to be a house call before Williams' knee buckled. Alabama went on to lose 33-18 as its offense struggled to find life without him.
Despite the injury, the Detroit Lions rolled the dice and traded up to select Williams. Hopefully, that gamble can pay off for Dan Campbell and his team.
