Julio “Jet” Jones, Takes off Against Carolina
After dealing with a hamstring injury in the Atlanta Falcons season opening game, Julio Jones is finally getting healthy and contributing to the Falcon offense in a major way.
The Dirty Birds got their second win of the season with a 25-17 nail-biter, where fans anxiously waited for them to blow yet another lead.
Raheem Morris seems to be doing a solid job filling in after the firing of Dan Quinn.
Jones put up an impressive 137 yards on seven targets, averaging about 19 yards a catch, against the stingy Panther defense who has only given up five touchdowns to wide receivers thus far.
In the last three games, he has 371 yards and three touchdowns, including a couple games against the tough NFC North.
With that performance, Jones tied Randy Moss with 35 career games with at least 125 receiving yards.
When NFL Network got ahold of him post game, he didn't shy away from the praise.
“Absolutely I think I’m the best, no doubt about it” Jones said. “I was injured earlier on in the season, but you’ll see, just keep watching.”
Even though Jones is back and at full strength, fellow Crimson Tide teammate Calvin Ridley isn't as fortunate.
Ridley excited the game in the second quarter after suffering a foot injury.
The injury isn't supposed to be serious, which is good for the Atlanta offense, considering Ridley has put up 657 yards and 6 touchdowns for them this year.
If the Falcons have any shot at winning the NFC South, it's going to hinge upon the health of their stud wideouts.
