Kalen DeBoer Preaching “Consistency” With Alabama Football
The Alabama Crimson Tide dominated the ULM Warhawks last week in a game where Alabama was clearly the superior team.

It was what Alabama was expected to do, but the team had struggled so far through 15 games. The Crimson Tide is 4-4 in games under Kalen DeBoer where Alabama is a double-digit favorite against a Power Four opponent:
Alabama was a 15.5-point favorite over Wisconsin, and the Crimson Tide won 42-10.
Alabama was a 22.5-point favorite over Vanderbilt, but Alabama lost 40-35.
Alabama was a 19.5-point favorite over South Carolina, and the Tide won 27-25.
Alabama was a 16.5-point favorite over Missouri, and the Tide won 34-0.
Alabama was a 14.5-point favorite over Oklahoma, but lost 24-3.
Alabama was a 10.5-point favorite over Auburn, and won 28-14
Alabama was a 16.5-point favorite over Michigan, but lost 19-13.
Alabama was a 13.5-point favorite over Florida State, but lost 31-17.
Consistency is key for teams that want to compete for a national championship, and so far, Alabama has struggled in that department under Kalen DeBoer. But the Crimson Tide thrived last week (against a non-power four opponent, ULM) as a double-digit favorite.
Kalen DeBoer preaches about consistency to his team, and that's been the message this week as Alabama prepares for Saturday's matchup with the Wisconsin Badgers at home.
"I think we were consistent," DeBoer said of last year's big win on the road against Wisconsin. "The consistency didn't mean that, all of a sudden, there was a barrage of points that went up on the board in the first quarter or the second quarter.
"We were behind early 3-0, and battled, put some good drives together, got a takeaway or two, and right at the end of the first half, it was really a big piece," DeBoer continued. "I talked to the team about that this summer, just continuing to take punches and keep the pedal down, and good things will happen. We got the ball back, well, they had the ball actually, about ready to go in and score in our territory at the end of the first half. We got the stop, and got seven points on the board, and turned around and got seven more. And really, that was just a great moment for us to understand why you finish the half, why you come out and start the half with great intensity. That certainly eased the game, and then we just continued to settle in, and everyone did their job.
"They played physical, and even that's what it's going to be, what it takes this week. The ball might not be in your hands as much. They're going to try to ball control. They're 35 to 25 in time of possession in the two games they've played. That's the style of the game. They're going to run down the clock and try to keep it out of our offensive hands."
