Landon Dickerson Joins Tide To Discuss Bama Football
"There's not one day that I didn't enjoy every second that I was a part of this team," declared departing Alabama offensive lineman Landon Dickerson on The Game with Ryan Fowler on Friday.
Dickerson joined the program to talk about his time at Alabama, playing for Nick Saban, his innovative railroad tie bumper and his other major highlights during his time in Tuscaloosa.
"We're all here for a common goal and that's to be, one, the best football players that we can be individually and then, two, we're trying to compete every year for a national championship and just really to beat everybody," said Dickerson of what made him gel so quickly as a transfer.
Dickerson has decided to auction off his notorious "Bama Bumper" and discussed what inspired him to get involved with Captain Brian Wolnewitz's battle with cancer.
"I got a lot of respect for first responders and those guys, who really go out there and their whole livelihood is helping others and serving the community. My dad was fire and rescue for 30 years before he retired. My mom's been a nurse most of her career, she's in the administrative side now," said Dickerson.
The bumper was on the front of the Rimington Award winner's truck and will be signed by Mac Jones, DeVonta Smith, Najee Harris, Alex Leatherwood, Dickerson, Deonte Brown, and Thomas Fletcher.
Fowler discussed with Dickerson dressing out for the national championship. The future NFL player said he only needed to convince coach Saban to dress out for the game and going out for warmups he had no idea if he would have the opportunity to play. Dickerson let the listeners inside his mind after he sustained the injury to Florida that cost him his starting position and embracing Saban after the game.
