The new year entered with a bang in Tuscaloosa.

While most people were enjoying a day off, Alabama offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin was being relieved of his play-calling duties one week before the national championship game against Clemson.

Both he and head coach Nick Saban called it a mutual decision due to the difficulty of balancing Kiffin's current job with his new position as head coach at Florida Atlantic. So effective immediately, Steve Sarkisian will take over as offensive coordinator for the Crimson Tide and Kiffin will move on to Boca Raton.

Ryan Fowler, host of The Game, wanted to gauge the Bama nation's reaction to the surprising news and we compiled some of the best ones from Twitter.

You can hear Fowler's show and the entire day of programming on Tide 102.9 from anywhere using the radioPup app.
