Former Notre Dame football head coach and ESPN college football analyst Lou Holtz's Florida house was struck by lightning this past Sunday.

His Florida mansion was valued at $1.6 million, but fortunately no one was seriously injured during the incident. 60 firefighters were called to put out the fire, and two suffered minor injuries while dousing the fire the lightning strike caused. It took nearly three hours to extinguish the fire, according to The Orlando Sentinel.

The second floor of Holtz's 11,000-square-foot house suffered the most damage, but there are no reports now as of the financial extent of the damage.

Neither Holtz nor his wife were available for comment on Sunday, but he did make a statement when he was reached:

"Sometimes things happen, and you have no control over them...This was the case when our home was struck by lightning and completely devastated this past weekend.”
