AUBURN, Ala.- The Crimson Tide lost their second SEC series of the season this past weekend to the Auburn Tigers in game three, where Auburn's bats were too much for Alabama, with the Tigers closing with 12 hits to Alabama's six.

Bobby Alcock, Alabama’s senior pitcher, took the mound for the Crimson Tide in this game. However, the right-hander’s first inning was cut short when Auburn’s freshman Left Fielder, Bub Terrell, drove home two runners on a single out to left field in the bottom of the First inning. To replace Alcock, Alabama called up Braylon Myers from the bullpen. Unfortunately, Myers allowed two more runs before escaping the inning.

Alabama’s second baseman responded in the top of the second inning when Garret Staton hit a three-run home run with two outs to cut into Auburn’s lead, making it a one-run ball game going into the bottom of the second inning.

Butch Thompson’s squad was able to increase their lead by two runs in the bottom of the third inning thanks to a big RBI double by Auburn’s Catcher/Left fielder Ike Irish, and an RBI single by Terrell, which was the freshman’s third RBI of the game, gave Auburn a 6-3 lead going into the third inning.

Myers settled in after a rocky second inning and delivered for the Crimson Tide with the Senior recording a season-high six strikeouts, only allowing three hits, and two earned runs through 4.2 innings.

Aeden Finateri came in for the senior pitcher in the 5th inning and only allowed one run in the bottom of the sixth when Auburn’s Eric Guevara hit a one-run homerun during his time on the mound, Alabama cut into Auburn’s four-run lead in the seventh inning when Jason Torres brought home two runs for the Crimson Tide when he singled up the middle. This made the score 7-5 going into the bottom of the seventh.

The Crimson Tide was unable to complete the comeback in game three with Alabama’s instate rival coming away with back-to-back series wins against the Tide.
