Alinen, a 6-foot-6, 325-pound offensive lineman from Pori, Finland, has appeared in 32 games across his three seasons in Tuscaloosa, making plays at offensive guard, offensive tackle, and on special teams for the Crimson Tide. He appeared in all 15 games for Alabama in the 2025-26 season. Alinen was redshirted after his true freshman season, so the redshirt sophomore will have two seasons of eligibility left after leaving Alabama.

His dad, Klaus Alinen, played in NFL Europe and spent one season on the Atlanta Falcons' practice squad.

Alinen was ranked as the No. 15 offensive tackle prospect in the 2023 recruiting class by 247 Sports. He originally chose the Crimson Tide over the Georgia Bulldogs, the Miami Hurricanes, the Ohio State Buckeyes, and the Oregon Ducks. He is the second offensive line transfer from Alabama this transfer portal cycle, joining former four-star recruit Roq Montgomery. Alinen is the sixth player to enter the portal from Alabama, joining Montgomery, wide receivers Bubba Hampton, Jalen Hale, and Jaylen Mbakwe, and running back Richard Young.

The transfer portal officially opened on Friday, January 2, and will remain open for 15 days.
