Spring practice for 2019 is in the books as Alabama football concluded spring with the annual A-Day game this past Saturday from Bryant-Denny Stadium.

To help break down what happened at Bryant-Denny Stadium, TiderInsider.com's Rodney Orr offered his thoughts Alabama's spring practice on The Gary Harris Show including his observations from A-Day.

Orr began his observations of A-Day with his thoughts on an abundance of underclassmen on defense.

"It was basically what I thought going in. I thought we would see a lot of youth out there obviously on the defense side, a lot of athletic players on that side of the ball. Potential, I think we saw a lot of that." Orr said.

On offense, the TiderInsider founder focused his attention on the offensive line including the absence of Jedrick Wills and Matt Womack along with the experimentation up front.

"You had a lot of shuffling also going on in the offensive line. You saw Chris Owens at center, but then you saw Emil Ekiyor come in and play the center spot, flip from guard to center and Owens flipped over to guard. So there was a lot of movement going on up front." Orr said.

Orr also highlighted the receivers in the passing game that caught his eye at A-Day.

"We saw a lot of exciting young players on the offensive side of the ball namely John Metchie at wide receiver who was named Most Valuable Player of the game, and I thought Xavier Williams is another young receiver that showed pretty well. Tyrell Shavers made a couple of grabs. Miller Forristall getting involved a little bit at the H-back position/tight end, so I saw a lot of good things." Orr said.

Find out what the TiderInsider founder and Alabama football observer had to say about Tua Tagovailoa's performance, Mac Jones's performance, Taulia's first A-Day outing and the overall running game during Saturday's A-Day game.
