SEC’s Leading Receiver ArDarius Stewart Talks Success This Season [VIDEO]
After another explosive week against Mississippi State, Alabama now has the top-ranked offense in the SEC. Many components go into producing nearly 500 yards each game, but wide receiver ArDarius Stewart has emerged as one of the team's big-play threats.
In last week's 51-3 win over the Bulldogs, Stewart logged eight catches for 156 yards and three touchdowns. All of those stats either equaled or exceeded his career bests, but the junior remained humble in victory.
"It was just like a good game, I guess," Stewart said. "The ball was just swinging my way."
The ball has swung his way quite a bit this year, but he's taken advantage of his opportunities. Stewart is averaging more than 17 yards per catch and now he leads the conference in receiving yards per game (85.4). He credits that success to his experience and his relationship with quarterback Jalen Hurts.
"Me and him, we talk a lot. We tell each other what we see on the field. That's kinda the thing that gets us to click. I also played high school quarterback and I see the kind of things that receivers that normally play just one position don't see."
Stewart and fellow wide receiver Calvin Ridley have become one the best duos in the SEC and will look to continue their success as the team moves closer to the postseason.
