Tide Softball Traveling to Italy For Summer Tour
Alabama softball continues to make history as the Crimson Tide plans to travel overseas this July for "The Italy Tour." Head coach Patrick Murphy announced via Twitter that the Tide will play Italy's national team in four games while traveling through six cities.
This tour marks the third international trip for Alabama softball, with the first being in the Netherlands back in 2014 and the second being in Japan back in 2018.
The last international trip saw the Tide in Japan where the team got to learn much about Japanese history and traditions. Alabama played games against Great Britain and New Zealand, one of which saw Montana Fouts stepping up to the plate as a pinch-hitter, where she hit a grand slam to help the Tide comeback and win game 2 against New Zealand.
This summer's Italy tour will be a great chance for the new members of Team 28 to build chemistry with each other, as well as learn about Italy's history and traditions.
