A pack of four Crimson Tide pitchers combined to help Alabama baseball shut out the seventh-ranked Vanderbilt Commodores, 1-0, on Saturday afternoon. With the win, Alabama improves to 30-26 on the season and 12-18 in the conference.

Will Carter earned his second win of the week with 3.0 innings of work, allowing just two hits and striking out one to improve to 4-5 on the season. Geoffrey Bramblett started the game and was followed by Alex Watkins, Carter and Thomas Burrows to limit the Commodores to five total hits. Burrows earned his team-high sixth save of the season with 1.2 innings of work, including a perfect 1-2-3 ninth inning.

Alabama head coach Mitch Gaspard claims his 200th career victory as the head man at Alabama with today’s victory. The shutout was Vanderbilt’s first game without a score all year.

Alabama will take a two-day break before returning to action once again, this time in the 2015 SEC Tournament. The Crimson Tide will enter as the 11th seed in the tournament and face off with sixth-seeded Ole Miss at 9:30 a.m. CT on Tuesdaymorning. The contest will air on the SEC Network with Tom Hart, Ben McDonald and Laura Rutledge on the coverage.
