People wondered if the bye week would disrupt the red hot momentum of Miami Dolphins, but Tua Tagovailoa silenced any doubters in a 30-15 win over the Houston Texans.

Tagovailoa has put up MVP level performances since returning from concussion protocol, pivotal to the Dolphins sitting at the top of the AFC East. In just over one half of playing time Sunday, Tagovailoa amassed 299 passing yards and a touchdown.

Despite the two-headed monster of Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle being the main source of offense for the Dolphins, Tagovailoa completed passes to 10 different Dolphins receivers in just the first half.

The Dolphins were able to get out to an early 10-0 lead, with a four-yard scramble pass from Tagovailoa to tight end Durham Smythe. Tagovailoa is just one shy of 20 passing touchdowns on the season.

Hill and Waddle had nearly identical days, with each amassing 85 receiving yards. Both were able to make big plays, as Hill with a 34-yard catch and run, while Waddle had a 29-yard contested jump ball.

Towards the end of the first half, Dolphins star offensive tackle Terron Armstead suffered a pectoral injury and was removed from the game. His absence was apparent, as Tagovailoa was sacked four times.

Tagovailoa powered the Dolphins to a comfortable 30-0 halftime lead, allowing for backup quarterback Skylar Thompson to play for the majority of the second half. It was also a precautionary move by Mike McDaniel to keep his star quarterback safe.

The Dolphins travel to San Francisco next week to take on the NFC West leading 49ers.
