On June 30, 2022, former Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa hopped on Tyreek Hill's fourth episode of his podcast "It Needed to be Said."

While Tua was featured, he talked about his days at the University of Alabama.

He said that he jokingly called his dad when he had first gotten to Alabama and asked if USC still had an offer for him because of all the running and conditioning he had to do.

"The whole football thing was extremely different for me when I got there. When I did get the chance to start and I played and we were on this little roll of winning however many games and blowing teams out by however much. Like going to class got a little harder too. I can remember students bringing their parents to class to take pictures," said Tagovailoa.

He described the experience as similar to a movie.

"You know like how you see good football players how they get treated and you are like ahh that's only in a movie. at the University of Alabama, it was like that," said Tagovailoa.

When asked if there was a cultural shock Tua from moving to Alabama from Hawaii, Tua said there wasn't much of one.

"Well everything in the South is fried. That was the only thing that was new to me."
Tua also declared that he was a big Zaxby's fan and gave a shoutout to Tuscaloosa "T-Town Baby!!!"

When asked about the difference between the SEC and the NFL, Tua said "A lot of the guys in the conference that we played in would say the same. Everyone in the NFL is bigger, is faster, but one of the craziest things is everyone on the field is smart."

Tua and his new explosive weapon Hill start the season off facing fellow former Alabama quarterback Mac Jones on September 11, 2022.
