Alabama baseball pitchers Jacob McNairy and Garrett McMillan were drafted in the 2022 MLB Draft on Tuesday afternoon.

McNairy was selected as the No. 486 pick overall (16th round) by the Seattle Mariners.

Last season, the Athens, Ala., native pitched 72 innings, giving up 78 hits, 39 runs (37 earned), 18 walks, 13 home runs, struck out 65 batters, and a 6-2 record with a 4.60 earned run average. He finished the season with a perfect fielding percentage.

McNairy led the pitching rotation in wins, pitched the second-most innings, and struck out the third-most batters.

Hillcrest High School alumnus Garrett McMillan was drafted as the No. 564 overall pick (19th round) by the Minnesota Twins.

Last season, the Tuscaloosa, Ala., native pitched 86 innings, giving up 79 hits, 47 runs (41 earned), 26 walks, 18 home runs, struck out 83 batters, and a 4-5 record with a 4.29 earned run average. He also finished the season with a perfect fielding percentage.

McMillan led the pitching rotation in innings pitched and batters struck out.

McNairy and McMillan are the third and fourth Alabama baseball players drafted in the 2022 MLB Draft. They join Connor Prielipp, who was drafted at No. 48 (second round) to the Minnesota Twins, and Dylan Ray, who was drafted at No. 108 (fourth round) to the Arizona Diamondbacks.

According to rolltide.com, five Alabama baseball signees were also drafted this year.
