Alabama Edge Linebacker Finds New Home in the Sun Belt

The college football offseason is well underway and players in the transfer portal are finding new homes. Former Alabama outside linebacker King Mwikuta announced on his Instagram that he will be joining the Arkansas State Red Wolves next season.

Mwikuta, a fomer 4-star recruit out of West Point, Ga, played in 35 games during his time in Tuscaloosa. He recorded six total tackles largely as a special teamer. His most impactful play came in the Texas A&M contest where he fell on a blocked punt in the endzone to score a special teams touchdown.

He joins Arkansas State and former Alabama assistant coach Butch Jones with the Red Wolves. In Jones's first year the Red Wolves finished 2-10 and finished last in the Sun Belt.

Jones was on the Alabama staff during Mwikuta's freshman and sophomore seasons and provides him a landing spot with a familiar face.

The Alabama outside linebacker room is still stacked despite Mwikuta's departure. The Tide brings back Will Anderson, Dallas Turner, Chris Braswell, Keanu Koht and incoming freshman Jihaad Campbell as well as others.
