Alabama Falls Short Against 18th-Ranked Florida State
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – In a hard-fought match on Saturday at Foster Auditorium, Alabama concluded the non-conference portion of its schedule with a loss to the 18th-ranked Florida State Seminoles, falling by set scores of 23-25, 23-25, and 13-25.
Alabama (8-3) displayed resilience in the opening set, trailing Florida State (8-2) by four points at set point before rallying with three consecutive points. The Seminoles called a timeout at 24-23 and managed to close out the set 25-23.
The second set followed a similar pattern, with the Crimson Tide battling back from a 20-16 deficit to tie the score at 21-21. A key kill from Chaise Campbell brought Alabama within one point at 24-23, but Florida State secured the set with another 25-23 win.
In the third set, the Seminoles started to gain momentum midway through and pulled away, ultimately winning the set 25-13 and the match in straight sets.
Despite the loss, Alabama showed determination and tenacity throughout the match. The Crimson Tide will now shift their focus to the start of conference play, where they will face No. 15 Tennessee next week.
