The Tide's spark from the bench on the defensive side of the ball will have to come from another source for Nate Oats and Alabama next season, as Alabama forward Mouhamed Dioubate has entered the transfer portal, according to On3 Sports.

Dioubate is the second player from Alabama to enter the transfer portal, joining redshirt freshman Naas Cunningham.

A 6-foot-7, 215-pound forward from Queens, New York, Dioubate was the defensive spark for Alabama in the 2024-2025 college basketball season. He provided a lot of juice for Alabama off the bench in more ways than just defensively, with several high-scoring performances as Alabama made an Elite Eight in the 2025 NCAA tournament.

Throughout his sophomore season, Dioubate appeared in 37 games with no starts, averaging 7.2 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 1.1 assists while shooting 61.7 percent from the floor and 46.2 percent from three-point range.

Dioubate had made it known he wants to start and now will have the opportunity to do so at a new school.

He also won the most hard hat awards on the team for the 2024-25 season, awarded in each game to the Alabama player with the most "blue-collar" points.

Dioubate may not be the last Alabama player to enter the portal.
