Alabama Lands Commitment from USC Transfer

Alabama is in Pasadena, California preparing for the Rose Bowl against the Michigan Wolverines. With such a high-profile game just days away, does that mean Alabama head coach Nick Saban is slowing down on the recruiting trail?

Not even close. Alabama is always trying to improve, and they did so by adding their second transfer portal player: USC cornerback Domani Jackson.

Jackson, a five-star recruit and the number one cornerback in the class of 2022, had a final two of Alabama and Michigan after he entered the transfer portal on December 18. Jackson chose the Crimson Tide after attending the team's Rose Bowl practice on Thursday.

Jackson will have two years of eligibility remaining once he enrolls at Alabama. With a cornerback group that will see the likely departure of both Kolol-Aid McKinstry and Terrion Arnold to the NFL draft, Alabama adds some much needed depth and competition to a room that was going to be incredibly young. It is a possibility that Alabama will feature two transfer cornerbacks in the secondary next season with Jackson and Louisiana transfer Trey Amos.

In two seasons with the Trojans, Jackson played in 18 games and tallied 35 tackles with four pass breakups.

Coming out of high school, Jackson was a consensus five-star from Mater Dei High School. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound prospect missed most of his senior season due to injury, but that didn't stop him from being named 2021 PrepStar Dream Team.

With Jackson still in California, he will probably remain with the Crimson Tide through Bowl prep before getting ready to start the spring semester at Alabama.
