The Alabama Crimson Tide wrapped up a dominant 94-79 victory over the North Carolina Tar Heels on Wednesday night, but Alabama is not content just winning on Wednesday. The Crimson Tide received positive news on the recruiting trail as well, with Joe Tipton of On3 Sports reporting that Alabama is one of four schools in the final mix for AJ Dybantsa, the No. 1 overall recruit in the class of 2025.

Alabama is in the mix with a trio of college basketball blue bloods: the Kansas Jayhawks, the BYU Cougars, and the team Alabama just molly-whopped on the court, the North Carolina Tar Heels.

The 6-foot-9, 210-pound shooting forward from Utah Prep in Hurricane, Utah watched Alabama's game against the Oregon Ducks in the Player's Era Festival Championship on Saturday night, while his dad was in attendance for the Crimson Tide's win over UNC.

247 Sports Director of Recruiting Adam Finkelstein grades Dybantsa as a round one and a potential lottery pick in the NBA draft.

"A 6-foot-9 jumbo wing with a wingspan exceeding 7 feet, an emerging 200-plus-pound frame and an advanced understanding of how to score from his spots (even in a half-court game), AJ Dybantsa is the best prospect in high school basketball.

Dybantsa possesses a lethal pull-up game with a high release and a smooth ball rotation. He's been a celebrated prospect since before he entered high school. Yet he has avoided the pitfalls of early stardom by consistently improving his game at each level. He was the leading scorer in the 2023 Peach Jam as an underclassman and shows flashes of untapped potential on defense thanks to his size and movement skills.

The bottom line is this: Dybantsa controls his own future. If he continues on his current path, then there's no one in high school basketball with more potential than him," Finkelstein wrote in his evaluation of Dybantsa.

Dybantsa took an official visit to Alabama in September 2024, when the Crimson Tide football team defeated the Georgia Bulldogs at home.
