NFL Offseason Roster Updates: Former Alabama Crimson Tide Players and New Team Affiliations
Just before the new league year for the National Football League, 12 former Tide players were set to be free agents for the 2026 offseason. Since that point, we have seen more Alabama players move from their former teams than we anticipated. Some players still remain unsigned by a team; former Tide running back Najee Harris is one of a few players still waiting for a new deal from any of the 32 NFL teams.

A few moves that came as a shock were the Miami Dolphins cutting former Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and trading former Tide pass catcher Jaylen Waddle to the Denver Broncos. Jonathan Allen was released after just one season by the Minnesota Vikings after signing a 3-year deal worth $51 million. Below is a list of all former Tide players, their former teams, and new teams if available.
- Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was cut by the Miami Dolphins and signed a one-year deal with the Atlanta Falcons.
- Wide receiver Jaylen Waddle was traded from the Miami Dolphins to the Denver Broncos.
- Defensive back Josh Jobe (Seattle Seahawks) resigned with the Seattle Seahawks.
- Running back Brian Robinson Jr. (San Francisco 49ers) signed a one-year deal with the Atlanta Falcons.
- Linebacker Christian Harris (Houston Texans) signed a one-year deal with the Atlanta Falcons.
- Offensive tackle Evan Neal (New York Giants) resigned with the New York Giants.
- Offensive tackle Cam Robinson (Cleveland Browns) remains unsigned.
- Defensive lineman Da'Shawn Hand (Los Angeles Chargers) signed a one-year deal with the Atlanta Falcons.
- Defensive back Jalyn Armour-Davis (Tennessee Titans) remains unsigned.
- Defensive back Trevon Diggs (Green Bay Packers) remains unsigned.
- Running back Najee Harris (Los Angeles Chargers) remains unsigned.
- Offensive tackle Jonah Williams (Arizona Cardinals) remains unsigned.
- Defensive Lineman Jonathan Allen (Minnesota Vikings) signed a two- year deal with the Cincinnati Bengals.
- Defensive lineman A'Shawn Robinson (Carolina Panthers) signed a one-year deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
- Safety Ronnie Harrison (Atlanta Falcons) signed a one-year deal with the Miami Dolphins.
Tagovailoa was under contract with Miami through the 2028 season after signing a four-year extension following his rookie deal. He is owed north of $99 million from the Dolphins over the next two seasons. The Falcons signed Tagovailoa to a one-year deal worth $1.2 million. Tagovailoa will look to revamp his career in Atlanta with new head coach Kevin Stefanski.
Another surprise was the Dolphins' shipping former Crimson Tide wide receiver Jaylen Waddle to the Denver Broncos. The Broncos traded their first-round pick of this year's draft (pick No. 30), a 2026 third-round pick, and a 2026 fourth-round pick. In return, they received Waddle and a 2026 fourth-round pick. Waddle is coming off a down year in his career, hauling in 64 catches for 910 yards and six touchdowns. Waddle has yet to receive a contract extension from the Broncos, but it is likely that one will happen in the future.
