The Crimson Tide already lost one running back to the transfer portal, with Justice Haynes announcing his departure from the Crimson Tide last week. However, Alabama will still return its top running back from 2024, with Jam Miller telling the media on Thursday that he plans to stay with Alabama in 2025.

"I'm staying another year," Miller said in a media appearance on Thursday. "I'm making that decision now. I'm not leaving this school at all."

Miller was the second leading rusher for the Crimson Tide this season and the No. 1 running back on the Tide's depth chart. He carried the ball 135 times for 641 yards and seven touchdowns, averaging 4.7 yards per carry on the ground. Additionally, he caught 13 passes for 119 yards and one touchdown this season for Alabama.

His best game came early in the season, during Alabama's 42-16 victory over the South Florida Bulls. Miller carried the ball 15 times for 140 yards and one touchdown. He had two games this season scoring multiple touchdowns, with the first coming in Alabama's 40-35 loss at Vanderbilt, and the other coming in Alabama's 34-0 win over Missouri.

Alabama's running back room looks to be in a strong position in 2025, with Miller returning and Richard Young expected to see in increased role due to the departure of Justice Haynes. Alabama also has a stable of talented running backs behind them, with Daniel Hill, Kevin Riley, and Akylin Dear expected to be a part of that room in 2025.
