Alabama senior special assistant to the head coach Sal Sunseri is expected to leave the Capstone and head to Colorado to join Deion Sanders staff, according to senior national college football reporter for On3Sports Matt Zenitz.

The Pittsburgh alumnus was on his second stint on the Crimson Tide coaching staff. His first time in Tuscaloosa, Ala., was from 2009-11 where he was the assistant head coach and linebackers coach. He came back in 2019 as the outside linebackers coach and was promoted to his current position last season.

The 63-year old has been coaching back-and-forth from college football and the NFL since the mid-80s, has worked on the defensive ball the majority of his career, and has been a part of multiple championship programs throughout his career.

Other places he has been to include Pittsburgh (1985-92), Iowa Wesleyan (1993), Illinois State (1994), Louisville (1995-97), Alabama A&M (1998-99), LSU (2000), Michigan State (2001), Carolina Panthers (2002-08), Tennessee (2012), Florida State (2013-14), Oakland Raiders (2015-17), and Florida (2018).

Sunseri will join former Alabama staffer Charles Kelly and former Alabama linebacker Demouy Kennedy in The Rockies.
