Andrew Bone On The Gary Harris Show: An Alabama Recruiting Update
The Wednesday edition of The Gary Harris Show got bad to the bone as Bama Insider’s recruiting guru, Andrew Bone, filled us in with key information on multiple big name targets for Nick Saban and Alabama Football.
“We’re probably going to see more de-commitments than ever before,” said Bone on Wednesday’s Garry Harris Show.
With the cancelation of both Big Ten and Pac 12 fall sports, Bone reflects on the possibility of student-athletes de-committing or transferring from schools in these conferences. Bone told the GHS listeners that Ohio State had already suffered a loss due to the Big Ten cancellation, referring to the four-star defensive end, Tunmise Adeley.
Gary turned the conversation toward current targets and Bone had some good news, “I’ve had Khyree Jackson going to Alabama for about a month now, but he’s probably Bama’s top JUCO prospect for this class.”
“Monkell Goodwine’s recruiting is going to be a little bit tighter than [Khyree] Jackson’s. Goodwine is still strongly considering Clemson and Kentucky as well as Alabama, but Bama is giving him a strong look because of our short depth at the defensive end spot,” Andrew Bone shared with Harris.
Harris stated, “I wouldn’t be doing my job if I didn’t ask for the weekly Kool-Aid [Ga’Quincy] McKinstry update… as a sportscaster, he is by far is the most asked about prospect - Is there anything new?” Bone replied with, “Watching the video interview he did won’t really help you discern where he wants to go, but I can see something happening with him this month and I see it coming down to an in-state battle.”
Kamari Lassiter, a four-star corner from Tuscaloosa’s American Christian Academy, was discussed as Gary pondered, “Is it harder to get looked at by Alabama if you play high school ball in Tuscaloosa? Kamari Lassiter is a national recruit… athletic, long, six-feet, 185-pounds… What do you think is going to happen with him and how serious is he with Alabama?” Harris asked.
Bone replied, “You’re right he had a tremendous junior season and he’s a great athlete, but it’s tough with Alabama. When you look at their recruiting table and if Khyree Jackson signs on Saturday, then Alabama will have signed four defensive backs already. There are also still some big prospects on the board for Alabama like Kool-Aid [Ga’Quincy McKinstry] and Terrion Arnold, but Lassiter is still on their radar.”
