Bama in the NFL: Week 6 Outlook
Week six is here and the first game starts tonight at 7:25 ct when the Niners take on the Seahawks in Seattle. More byes this week as well so not as many games on this weeks slate, but plenty of great matchups to watch. Let's break it down.
Commanders vs. Ravens (Sun. Noon ct):
Brian Robinson Jr. (Commanders) - Coming off a solid performance from last week, and nursing a slight knee injury, expect a smaller work load if not fully healthy. Still plenty of opportunities against a modest Ravens defense. Expect Robinson to play, just watch his usage as it will most likely be less than normal due to his slight knee injury.
Derrick Henry (Ravens) - Another solid performance last week from Henry, and a lot of momentum for him going into this one. A less than stellar run defense for the Commanders means Henry is in line for another big game. Watch him get the carries and feast.
Marlon Humphrey (Ravens) - Playing back to form as one of the top safeties in the league, this secondary leader will look to shut down rookie of the year candidate Jayden Daniels in this matchup. Daniels is playing extremely well, but his rookie moments are bound to happen, so watch for the veteran Humphrey to take advantage.
Browns vs. Eagles (Sun. Noon ct):
Jerry Jeudy & Amari Cooper (Browns) - A decent matchup here for sure coming off a tough loss, but efficiency for Jeudy and Cooper is still heavily dependent on Watson's ability to get the ball down field. With him leading the league in off target throws, it may be another long day for these Brown's pass catchers.
DeVonta Smith (Eagles) - Finalizing his concussion protocols and a full participant at Wednesday's practice, it's shaping up that Smitty will return this Sunday. With both Brown and Smith back on the field this week, the Eagles offense looks to get back on the right foot coming out of their bye. Expect Smith to be back in his role of chain moving and crazy catches, especially against this Browns defense that is reeling.
Jalen Hurts (Eagles) - Coming out of a bye week, Jalen and the offensive staff for the Eagles look to improve. Turnovers have plagued Jalen the first four weeks and getting his top two receivers back should help with alleviating those struggles. This is where the Eagles' season turns around, or doesn't.... We'll have to see.
Lions vs. Cowboys (Sun. 3:25 ct):
Jahmyr Gibbs (Lions) - Another team coming out of their bye week, the Lions look to make a statement by putting another nail in the Cowboys. Gibbs should have plenty of carries and looks in this matchup as the Cowboys' run defense is shaky. Gibbs should have no problem taking advantage of this defense on the ground so look for him to have a nice game here.
Jameson Williams (Lions) - Not getting as many targets as he did the first two games, Williams looks to continue his big play games this week. He can make nothing into anything as we saw against Seattle two weeks ago when he ripped off a 70 yard catch and run for a touchdown. A great game is bound to happen here so get your popcorn ready.
Those are the matchups to watch this week as we have a lot of Bama on Bama action. Make sure to check back Tuesday for the week six recap and Roll Tide!
