MUNICH- Bryce Young and the Panthers secured a 20-17 overtime victory over the New York Giants for the final National Football League international game. The Panthers achieved back-to-back victories for the first time since December 11, 2022, when Steve Wilks was the interim head coach. The triumph recored Young's second consecutive win as a professional athlete, and his second consecutive win since the 2022 Sugar Bowl win at Alabama.

Young has now started three consecutive games, achieving a 2-3 record since regaining the starting role. The Panthers improved to 3-7, with two of those wins coming during Young's tenure as the starter.

After being benched in week three, Young took the opportunity to refine his skills and rediscover the talent he possessed at Alabama. The Panthers organization praised Young for his patience and dedication throughout the process, which appears to be paying off.

Many have noticed improvement in Young's performance since he retuned to the starting lineup. His playing style has become more precise, enabling him to make crucial plays when needed, and he has shown increased aggressiveness in the Red zone.

And it's not just Young that has seemed to rise to the occasion, contributing to their victories in weeks eight and ten. Many have played differently on offense and defense to help restore confidence in the starting quarterback. If they can sustain this momentum, they have the potential to turn their season around, already boasting a better record than in the 2023-24 season.

Young completed the game without any errors, and Chuba Hubbard demonstrated why he received a contract extension. The Panthers will enjoy a bye week before facing the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs in week 12.

Coach Dave Canales has yet to announce who will start in the upcoming game. "Yeah. I’m so proud of Bryce. I’m so proud of him taking the next step again. I thought he had a great day. I thought it could’ve been a fantastic day. I thought a few balls got away from us a couple of times that would’ve really turned it into an exceptional day, but he handled the rush well. He handled the different coverage looks well. And all that. So again, we’ll take all the information, we’ll do all that, but Bryce is certainly making a statement to all of us. I just can’t tell you how proud I am of weekly progress, and that’s the goal for all of us," said Canales regarding Young's potential start against the Chiefs.

Giants kicker Graham Gano missed a 43-yard attempt, leaving the Giants scoreless with 11:48 remaining in the half.

Daniel Jones tried to generate offense for the Giants before halftime, but with under two minutes left, a pass intended for Theo Johnson deflected off his helmet and was intercepted in the Red zone by Xavier Woods. This marked the Giants second first-half shutout of the season.

Third Quarter:
Six minutes into the third quarter, the Giants finally scored, thanks to a 32-yard touchdown pass from Tyrone Tracy Jr. A key block by former Alabama offensive tackle Evan Neal helped secure the Giants' first touchdown of the season on their opening drive of the second half.
Hubbard continued to shine with a 25-yard run, while Young made a significant 24-yard scramble. The Panthers showcased their offensive prowess with around six plays exceeding 20 yards in this game. However, after a series of plays, the Panthers found the end zone again, only to have it nullified due to an illegal formation penalty.
Shortly after, Hubbard set a new career high in rushing yards and scored a 1-yard touchdown, extending the Panthers' lead to 10 points before the fourth quarter.
Fourth Quarter:

With 8:39 remaining, the Giants scored again with a 2-yard quarterback keeper, narrowing the gap to three points.
The Giants had multiple chances to seize the lead, but with about six minutes left, Josey Jewell intercepted another red zone attempt, marking his second pick of the day. The score stood at Panthers 17, Giants 14.
In the final seconds, the Giants orchestrated several drives to position Gano for a field goal attempt, successfully tying the game and forcing overtime.
Overtime:

The Giants won the coin toss, but Tracy Jr. fumbled the ball after being stripped by A'Shawn Robinson, allowing the Panthers to recover at the Giants' 23-yard line.
Young executed several plays to set up Pineiro for a field goal, which he successfully converted from 36 yards, clinching a 20-17 victory for the Panthers in overtime.
