Former Central Arkansas ace pitcher Kayla Beaver is transferring to Alabama.

She made the announcement via an Instagram post on Sunday afternoon.

The Jackson, Tenn., native spent four seasons at Central Arkansas. Last season, she made 38 appearances, including 25 starts, pitched 201.2 innings and recorded 141 hits, 40 runs, 33 earned runs, 41 walks, five home runs, and 194 strikeouts.

She finished her season with a 25-7 record and a 1.15 earned run average.

Beaver is familiar with playing at Rhoads Stadium as she led Central Arkansas to the 2023 Tuscaloosa Regional. The team wen 1-2 in the regional, beating Long Island 15-0 and losing twice to Middle Tennessee State 8-0 and 3-0.

Beaver is the first player to join Team 28 from the portal.
