Alabama Soccer’s Gianna Paul Ties School Record For Career Goals
During Alabama soccer's 2-1 loss to No. 17 South Carolina in the SEC opener on Thursday, Senior Forward Gianna Paul from Huntington Station, New York, tied the program record for career goals.

Paul matched the record by scoring her 33rd goal in the 51st minute during the Tide's loss to the Gamecocks on Thursday, assisted by Larkin Thompson, who fought for control of the ball in Center Field before advancing it forward to Paul, who lined up a beautiful shot inside the back corner to give the Tide its first goal of the game.
Throughout her four seasons in Tuscaloosa, she has received several accolades, including being named a United Soccer Coaches (USC) All-American last year and selected for the USC All-Region First Team in both 2023 and 2024. Additionally, she was recognized as a member of the First Team All-SEC in 2023 and 2024. Paul was also honored as the 2022 SEC Freshman of the Year.
The New York Native has now tied the record set by Libby Probst, who achieved this during her time with the Crimson Tide from 2002 to 2005. Paul's record-tying goal came just moments after Katie Shea Collins from South Carolina scored, giving the Gamecocks a 2-0 lead.
Alabama soccer dropped to 5-2-1 overall and 0-1 in SEC play, while South Carolina improved to a 7-1-1 record and 1-0 in conference play. Paul and the Crimson Tide will be back in action Sunday, September 14th, when Alabama faces off against Lipscomb in Tuscaloosa at 1 p.m. CT.
