Grant Nelson Signs With The Brooklyn Nets
Grant Nelson had several highlight moments during his two seasons with Alabama, capped off by a massive dunk over Donovan Clingan in the 2024 Final Four and a key block against Cooper Flagg in the 2025 Elite Eight. Despite his 6-foot-11 frame and effectiveness at the rim, Nelson went undrafted in the 2025 NBA draft.

Nelson didn't have to wait too long to learn his NBA destination; however, reports from Michael Scotto indicate Nelson will join the Brooklyn Nets and compete for a two-way contract with the Nets.
Nelson will compete during training camp with the Nets, according to Scotto. During his final season with the Tide, Nelson averaged 11.5 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks. During Alabama's Final Four run in the 2023-24 season, Nelson averaged 11.9 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game while shooting 48.8% from the floor and 27.3% from three-point range.
Nelson, a 6-foot-11, 230-pound forward from Devils Lake, North Dakota, transferred to Alabama after spending three seasons at North Dakota State. He'll now join former Alabama forward Noah Clowney in Brooklyn. Clowney was drafted in the first round of the 2023 NBA draft by Brooklyn.
Nelson is the second Alabama player who declared for this year's NBA draft to sign an undrafted contract following the NBA draft. Alabama guard Mark Sears signed with the Milwaukee Bucks earlier in the night.
